RECREATIONAL SPRING LEAGUE
SPRING 2024SEASON REGISTRATION (WAIT LIST PERIOD NOW IN PLACE)
The PRFC YouthSoccer Recreational Spring League is a community basednon-coed soccer program for boys and girls in PreK (age 4 as of 12/31/2023)through 6th grade. Coaches are all parent volunteers.
The 9-game season will be played on Saturdays from March 2through May 4, 2024. (No games on March 16, the second Saturday of Scottsdale Unified Schools Spring break.)
Player registrationsare accepted from December to January 25.After January 25, the ‘wait list period’ begins from which players are placed on teams on a first come, first served basis to fill openings as they become available.
We typically place almost all players from the Wait List so do not hesitate to sign up.Any wait list players who are not placed will be refunded in full.
Coaches will receive their rosters no later thanFebruary 16. Practices can beginthe week of February 19.
Game Fields
Games are played on Saturdays between 7:30am and 4:00pmon City of Scottsdale fields:
- PreK and Kindergartenersplay at:Thunderbird Parkand/orMountainView Park / Cochise Elementary School
- 1stthrough 6th gradersplayat:MountainView Park / Cochise Elementary School
Team Practice
Practice days, times and locationsare determined by the volunteer parent coach. Once coaches receive their rosters they will communicate this information to families.Note: we try to form ‘neighborhood’ teams so typically teams will practice close to where they reside.
Registration & Pricing
Regular registration must be completed by January 25. Any registrations received January 26 through February 20are placed on a wait list and players will be placed on a team on a first-come, first-served basis as openings are available.

Uniform Ordering (NEW FOR 2024)
Beginning in 2024, all recreational players will order their recreational uniform online which will be delivered directly to you. (previously we provided each coach with a uniform set to distribute to their team).
Benefits of online uniform ordering include;
- ability to order specific sizing requirements for your child.
- option to order extra uniform pieces and/or any additional equipment.
- ability to choose how often you order a new uniform as opposed to receiving every season. You may only need to order a new uniform every 3-4 seasons for example.
- uniform kit may be used for younger siblings coming up in the program.
The Rec uniform packagewill include two jerseys (red & white (home/away)), black shorts and black socks.

PLEASE NOTE:Our PRFC Youth Soccer Recreational and Competitive Soccer Programs are intended to be mutually exclusive: Competitive Program players play for theCompetitive Program and cannot also register for the Recreational Program. Likewise, Recreational Program players cannot also register and play for theCompetitive Program.

Notes:
1. The roster maximums are strictly enforced. Teams are not eligible to go above the maximum shown – no exceptions.
2. Players in PreK must be entering Kindergarten the following school year in order to be eligible to participate.

Age Policy
PRFCYS Recreational Spring Programis a pure grade / gender soccer program for players in preschool through 6th grade. Nearly all children are best served by playing soccer in their proper grade / gender group for reasons of safety and skills development.
The Board of Directors at PRFCYSmayrequest proof of grade and / orage to be established.Failure to respond to such request can result in the immediate suspension of the player involved.A Discipline and Rules Committee Hearing may be convened on the matter.
Playing Down
No child at PRFCYSwill be considered to play in a divisionyounger than their established gradewithout a written request from a licensed medical doctor.The PRFCYSBOD VP of the Recreational Program must receive a written request from a parent, prior to team formation, with a doctor’s note attached. The Director or the Director’s designee will evaluate each request on a case-by-case basis, although it is not the clubsintent to allow children to “play down” a division.
Playing Up
Siblings one year apart in age / gradeare eligible to participate on the same team. In this scenario, the younger sibling would “play up” in order to participate with their older sibling. Other than this, no child in the PRFCYSRecreational Program may play in an older division.
Jewelry & Ear Piercings
For player safety, jewelry is not allowed to be worn during practices or games –No Exceptions. For girls or boys,wait until after the seasonto get those ears pierced. Pierced ear “starter posts” must be removed for a player to be allowed to play –No Exceptions. Taping over the piercing is not an acceptable solution –No Exceptions.
This policy applies to piercings of any kind. Medical ID Bracelets are the only jewelry exception with Referee notification prior to the start of the game.
Volunteer Coach Information
PRFC YouthSoccer Recreational Program’s Volunteer Coaching:
Volunteer coaches indicate their interest in coaching during their player’s registration. If you become interested in coaching a team after your player registers, please send an email toinfo@prfcyouthsoccer.comwith your request or for additional information.
The PRFC YouthSoccer Recreational Program willcollect all coach’s names and form teams based on the coaches who have volunteered. Coaches cannot request players but players, during registration, can request a coach. A coach’s player is automatically assigned to the coach’s team. Historically, nearly all individuals who havevolunteered tocoach are selected to coach a team.
Practice Goals for Sale.
Coaches canpurchase PUGG pop up practice goals at areduced cost. Using our ability to purchase in quantity and also subsidizing the cost, coaches can purchase a pair of PUGG goals in a carry bag for $80.00. Each season all volunteer coaches are provided with equipment to keep including cones, pinnies, a ball, a coaches shirt.
